Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo Open to Representing Either Nigeria or England

Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has expressed his openness to representing either Nigeria or England at the international level.

The 22-year-old, born in England to Nigerian parents, has played for England at the youth level but remains eligible to play for Nigeria through his heritage.

Rumours have circulated that Okonkwo might receive an invitation to join the Super Eagles for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Despite these speculations, Okonkwo has stated that he has not yet decided on his international future but is considering playing for the three-time African champions.

“I’m still really ambitious to play at the international level. I can still play for England or Nigeria, and I’ve not made a choice yet,” he told The Mirror.

Last season, the young goalkeeper impressed while on loan at Wrexham, contributing to the club’s promotion to League One.
