President William Ruto’s arrival ceremony in the United States featured the traditional pomp and circumstance befitting a state visit. US First Lady Jill Biden received President Ruto at Joint Andrews Air Force Base before their scheduled events.
This marks the second phase of the U.S. State Visit, following two days in Atlanta, where President Ruto promoted Kenya as a top investment destination in Africa.
State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed confirmed that Wednesday, May 22, officially began Ruto’s three-day State visit to the USA at President Joe Biden’s invitation. Upon arrival at Andrews Air Force Base, President Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto were welcomed by First Lady Jill Biden with full ceremonial state honours, underscoring the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
