Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, has expressed harsh criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s first year in office, describing it as a “terrible failure.” Sowore, a prominent political activist, shared his thoughts on social media, emphasizing the numerous challenges Nigeria has faced under Tinubu’s administration.
In a post on X, Sowore stated, “The regime of @officialABAT failed so terribly in the last year that we would have to dissolve the class instead of scoring the regime!” He further remarked, “If I were a teacher and I have to score this regime after one year, I would have dissolved the class because there is nothing to score.”
Sowore highlighted several key issues that have plagued Nigeria over the past year, including rampant inflation, rising unemployment, worsening insecurity, and stagnant minimum wage growth. He pointed out that inflation has reached unprecedented levels, exacerbating the economic struggles of ordinary Nigerians.
Additionally, Sowore noted that unemployment remains a significant problem, contributing to the overall economic instability. He also mentioned the deteriorating security situation, which has seen an increase in violence and unrest across the country.
President Tinubu’s first year in office has been met with mixed reactions, with some praising his efforts while others, like Sowore, have been highly critical. As Nigeria continues to navigate these challenges, the performance and policies of Tinubu’s administration will remain under close scrutiny.
