Benue State, Nigeria – Multiple operations conducted by troops in Benue State have resulted in the neutralization of six terrorists, the rescue of kidnapped victims, and the recovery of arms, according to a disclosure made on the Nigerian Army’s verified Facebook page.

Troops, acting on actionable intelligence, raided a notorious kidnapping syndicate’s hideout in Sankara, Ukum Local Government Area. This operation led to the neutralization of three terrorists, the rescue of two hostages, and the recovery of arms including one AK-47 rifle, a locally fabricated gun, and assorted mobile phones, among other items.

In a related development, troops successfully extricated Warrant Officer Ogbonna Charles, a serving soldier of the Nigerian Army, who was abducted in the Goh Area of Gwer West Local Government Area. Another operation rescued Lieutenant Bot Elisha and 10 other passengers who were kidnapped while travelling on board a Peace Mass Transit Bus from Abuja to Port Harcourt.

The victims are currently receiving medical attention after being freed from known and suspected enclaves of kidnappers.

Additionally, a significant operation following an airstrike by the Nigerian Air Force on the hideout of a militia kingpin known as “Full Fire” resulted in the recovery of various items including communication devices, electronic gadgets, ammunition, and livestock.
