The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially accepted the resignation of its former Vice Chairman, Chief Francis Inegbeneki. This announcement follows Inegbeneki’s resignation letter submitted on Friday, June 7, 2024, to the Ward 9 Chairman of the party in Opoji, Esan Central Local Government Area.
Chief Inegbeneki cited recent developments within both the local and state chapters of the party as the primary reasons for his decision to resign and withdraw his membership from the APC. His resignation marks a significant shift within the party’s structure in Edo State.
In a statement issued by the state chairman of the APC, Jarrett Tenebe, the party acknowledged and respected Inegbeneki’s decision, wishing him well in his future political endeavours. Tenebe praised Inegbeneki for his loyalty and dedication to the APC since its inception, noting his tireless efforts to promote the party’s ideals and advance the interests of its members and supporters throughout the state.
“His contributions to the growth and development of the party cannot be overstated, and we are grateful for the time he spent with us,” Tenebe stated.
Despite this significant departure, Tenebe called on all APC members and supporters, both within and outside Edo State, to remain steadfast and committed to the party’s cause. He emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in mobilizing communities, engaging with fellow citizens, and promoting the APC’s message of hope and change.
“We must now look forward to the future and focus our efforts on the task of liberating Edo State from the ineffective government of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” Tenebe urged.
The APC’s focus remains on strengthening its position and working towards achieving its goals in Edo State, even as it navigates through the changes brought by Inegbeneki’s resignation.
