Former NBA star Iman Shumpert has requested a change in child support payments, citing a significant income disparity between himself and his ex-wife, singer and actress Teyana Taylor. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Shumpert, 33, claims Taylor’s gross monthly income before taxes is $93,885, nearly double his $47,981.

Shumpert, who has earned $48 million over his NBA career, has not played in the league since 2021. Despite his substantial earnings, he is seeking an adjustment in child support payments to reflect the current financial situation.

In the ongoing divorce proceedings, which Taylor filed for in November, she accused Shumpert of being insecure and jealous of her rising fame. As they navigate the terms of child support for their two children, Shumpert has expressed willingness to pay $8,000 a month. Additionally, he has agreed to cover health insurance for major medical expenses but proposes splitting the cost of other health services for their children.

This request comes on the heels of allegations from Taylor that Shumpert turned off the utilities at the Atlanta home she shares with their kids, adding another layer of complexity to their already contentious separation.
