50 Cent’s life has been threatened by Cory “Ghost” Holland Sr., a former drug kingpin currently suing the rapper and television producer for $1 billion. Holland alleges that 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, based the premise of the popular TV show Power on his life without permission. The lawsuit, filed in 2021, also names Power co-creator Courtney Kemp, Starz, and Lionsgate as defendants.

Holland claims that since filing the lawsuit, Jackson has sent “goons” to harass him and his family. In a statement to Jackson’s representatives obtained by AllHipHop, Holland issued a stark warning: “If a motherfker gets killed because your motherfking client threatens me and my family, file a motherfking motion for that. I ain’t playing with your motherfking client no more, next time he or anyone he sends pull up, f**k the litigation. 50 Cent plays games with people’s lives, he humiliates people, he comes to their homes, then plays a victim. He constantly in somebody mess. Plaintiff has warned 50 Cent, he ain’t no entertainer.”

50 Cent’s legal team has responded to the violent nature of the statement, expressing their concerns to Judge Analisa Torres. “This language can only be understood as a threat of violence against Mr. Jackson and his counsel,” they informed the court. “We are also in the process of notifying the relevant local authorities.”

Holland maintains that Jackson has attempted to intimidate him into dropping the lawsuit, alleging he was threatened by Jackson’s henchman at a gas station. He also claims to have relocated his mother out of fear for their safety. “Plaintiff had [to] up and move [his mother] from her state out of fear that 50 Cent was go harm her and me. Plaintiff try’s [sic] to protect himself and deal with the constant pressure and fear that is real,” Holland wrote in a letter to the judge.

50 Cent’s representatives have dismissed Holland’s claims of stealing his life story for Power, asserting that all characters in the show are fictional. Holland contends that the storylines are exact depictions of his life, derived from recordings he made in 2007 to discourage at-risk youth from pursuing a life of crime.

“This is not one of those lawsuits from a deranged fan or someone trying to capitalize off of someone else’s success,” Holland stated in his original complaint. “This is about the actual theft of my life, and the damages that it has done, as well the profits that the defendants have made from the theft and telling my life story without my consent.”

As this high-stakes legal battle continues, both sides are preparing for further court proceedings, with tensions evidently escalating beyond the courtroom.
