Jayson Scott, the 23-year-old son of “All The Way Up” rapper Remy Ma, has been arrested on a murder charge related to the fatal 2021 shooting of Darius Guillebeaux in Queens, New York.
First reported by Fox 5’s Lisa Evers, the NYPD confirmed Scott’s arrest alongside 22-year-old Richard Swygert. Both men face first-degree murder charges for the killing of 43-year-old Guillebeaux, who was shot in the head and chest on June 7, 2021, at the intersection of 148th Street and Rockaway Boulevard in Springfield Gardens.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, but investigators are considering the possibility of it being a murder for hire. In addition to the murder charges, Scott and Swygert have been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

This arrest comes a decade after Remy Ma was released from prison following a six-year term of her eight-year sentence for intentional assault. The rapper was convicted in 2007 for shooting a member of her entourage over $3,000, as reported by The New York Times.
Reflecting on her time in prison, Remy Ma wrote on social media one year after her release: “At this moment 1 year ago I was sitting in a cell wondering when I was coming home. I had actually given up hoping that it would even happen. I was supposed to be released July 31, 2014, and I woke up on August 1, 2014, STILL in prison; I was devastated. Yet, by the grace of my merciful God, I was able to awake the next day at home, in my bed, and post my first selfie. At this moment I was so happy but still in shock that I was actually ‘free.’”
The arrest of Jayson Scott marks another troubling chapter for the family, highlighting the ongoing struggles and legal issues surrounding them.
