Boosie is one step closer to resolving his legal troubles. The Baton Rouge rapper shared a jubilant video on social media, showing him removing his electronic ankle monitor and tossing it into a swimming pool. This moment of celebration came after a court-approved decision to remove the device, although his charges have yet to be officially dismissed.
Boosie’s lawyer, Meghan Blanco, confirmed that the motion to dismiss his charges has been filed with the United States District Court Southern District of California, with a response from the judge pending. However, District Judge Cathy A. Bencivengo approved the removal of the ankle monitor.
The charges against Boosie stem from a June 2023 arrest when he was taken into custody for multiple felonies, including possession of a firearm and transporting firearms across highways, after being seen holding guns on Instagram Live. This arrest occurred after a gun case against him was dismissed.
While detained, Boosie claimed that the San Diego justice department was deliberately obstructing his release, accusing the prosecution of misconduct and racism. He called on his supporters to protest the alleged injustice and to pray for his freedom.
Boosie remains optimistic as he awaits the court’s final decision on the dismissal of his charges.
