Legendary British singer Elton John has confirmed his retirement from touring at the age of 77. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, he announced that he will never tour again. His final performance took place last July in Stockholm, Sweden.
Reflecting on the conclusion of his farewell tour, Elton John said, “The last show in Stockholm on the farewell tour after Glastonbury, I got in the car and went, ‘Yes! yes!’ We went out on the biggest high, just the way I wanted to, and there’s no going back [after] that.”
Elton John’s farewell tour, which ended early last year, grossed $939 million (£749 million) over 328 shows, making it the highest-grossing music tour in history until it was recently surpassed by Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour, which earned $1 billion in revenue.
