England captain Harry Kane has praised teammate Jude Bellingham following his stellar performance in the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 Round of 16 victory over Slovakia on Sunday.
Bellingham scored a dramatic stoppage-time goal to push the game into extra time. Kane then secured the win with a goal in the first half of extra time, leading England to a 2-1 triumph and a spot in the quarter-finals.
Kane, speaking to ITV after the match, lauded the Real Madrid star: “We work on so many details throughout the week, we put in a long throw late a couple of days ago and we said we might need it. Then obviously Jude does what Jude does, what an unbelievable goal and he’s kept our tournament alive. One of the best in our country’s history, what a player he is. He works so hard for the team and there’s been a lot of talk about him the last couple of days, but it shows what he can do.”
