Nigerian Government Disburses N27.2 Billion in Grants to Nano Businesses

The Nigerian federal government has disbursed a total of N27.2 billion from April to June 2024, out of the N50 billion allocated for nano businesses under the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme.

According to the scheme’s portal, as of 30 June 2024, 545,830 individuals have benefited from the grants, amounting to N27.2 billion during this period.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite, previously announced that four million Nigerians registered for the N50,000 palliative grant, but only one million will benefit from the scheme.

“It’s important to note that almost four million Nigerians applied for the palliative grant of N50,000, but only one million beneficiaries can be accommodated. This means not all applicants will receive the grant,” she said.

Uzoka-Anite added that the grant disbursement is ongoing.
