Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has pledged to reform Nigerian cinema, promising to build a lasting brand that will earn audience trust.
Kadiri made this announcement on her Instagram page, assuring fans and the general public of her dedication to this vision. Emphasising her independence, she highlighted her commitment to creating a self-sustaining brand.
“The way my brain functions, I ask myself what would become of my brand if I had no promotional help. Truthfully, I do not bank on anyone so when you choose not to offer help, I’m not really bothered,” Kadiri wrote.
“I will change the pattern in Nigerian cinema, I promise you all. You will watch my movie not because someone begged you to watch it, but because you trust me. I am here to build a brand of longevity that definitely does not require constant begging.
“I, Ruth Kadiri, am not in a hurry; don’t worry about that. Building a solid structure is all I’m about,” she concluded.
Kadiri’s bold declaration has sparked conversations in the industry, with many eagerly anticipating the impact of her vision on Nigerian cinema.
