Afrobeats singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has criticized his colleague Davido’s marriage, deeming it a poor example. This comment came in response to a fan urging Burna Boy to follow in Davido’s footsteps and settle down.
Davido is currently involved in a child custody battle with his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu. The tension escalated when Davido accused Sophia of referencing the tragic death of his son Ifeanyi, who drowned in a swimming pool accident at his Lagos mansion, in her countersuit.
Amid this controversy, fellow artist Dammy Krane mocked Davido, drawing parallels to the pain felt by Tagbo’s mother, whom he claims Davido contributed to his death. Burna Boy intervened, asking Dammy Krane to remove his posts about Davido, but his request was ignored. Burna Boy then commented on his X page, “‘Odogwu too wise’ who no hear go feel.”
When an X user, @BadLieutenant, suggested that Burna Boy should start planning for his future by getting married and starting a family like Davido, Burna Boy responded, “Baba make I just dey as I dey abeg, u nor see wetin him dey face like dis?”
Another user, @RealDreylo, criticized Burna Boy’s response, to which he retorted, “Ok. But between me and you, Shey na betta example the guy use?” Another user, @SunOfOba, asked if Adekunle Gold was a better example, to which Burna Boy agreed, saying, “Ehen! Na wetin we dey pray for be that bros.”
Davido recently tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Chioma, in a lavish ceremony in Lagos, adding to the public’s interest in his personal life.
