Arteta Admits Rice and Saka Have Had a ‘Tough’ Euro 2024 Ahead of England’s Quarter-Final Clash

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has acknowledged that Gunners duo Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka have faced a ‘tough’ time during the ongoing Euro 2024. Arteta shared his thoughts ahead of England’s quarter-final match against Switzerland on Saturday evening.

England secured their spot in the last-8 by defeating Slovakia in the round of 16. Reflecting on the match, Arteta told CBS, “I was watching it [England vs Slovakia] with my boys, and my son is a huge fan of Jude Bellingham, so he was running and jumping all over the place.”

Arteta expressed his support for Rice and Saka, saying, “So glad for the boys [Rice and Saka] because I know it’s been a tough few weeks for them. But they showed the character and the resilience that is needed in tournaments to create a moment that hopefully is going to turn a lot of things around.”
