Afrobeats singer Anthony Victor, popularly known as Victony, has opened up about his past heartbreak during an appearance on the ‘Is This Seat Taken?’ podcast, hosted by actress Chinasa Anukam.
In the candid conversation, Victony recounted his emotional experience after discovering that his ex-girlfriend had been unfaithful to him. He revealed that while his ex had assured him that another man was just a friend, it was later revealed that she was cheating on him with this person.
“She [my ex-girlfriend] was talking to this other guy and I was aware. She was telling me about this other guy. Me, very open-minded, I was like, this guy was just her friend,” Victony said. “She told me he was her friend but his name just always came up. And I will be like, what kind of friend is this one?”
The 23-year-old artist expressed his feelings of betrayal and foolishness when he found out the truth. “At the end of the day, it turned out he was not her friend. That was very mad because when I realised everything that was going on, I felt very stupid,” he admitted.
Victony shared that this heartbreak occurred when he was much younger, reflecting on how the experience shaped his views on relationships.
