Presidency Seeks Kaduna State’s Support for School Feeding Programme

The Presidency has reached out to the Kaduna State government to ensure the successful implementation of the school feeding programme. This was announced by Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on School Feeding, during a meeting with state officials.

According to a statement released by her office, Adeniji described the visit to Kaduna as a move to flag off the first phase of the Value for Money Study, in partnership with GAIN. The study aims to ensure the school feeding programme delivers maximum impact for schoolchildren and provides optimum return on investment for the government.

Adeniji met with Kaduna State Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Yusuf Liman, and Executive Chairman of the Kaduna Inland Revenue Services Jerry Adam, among other officials. The meeting focused on exploring collaborative opportunities to advance educational initiatives and ensure sustainable progress in the school feeding programme.

Adeniji emphasized the importance of fostering dialogue and cooperation for the benefit of every child in Kaduna, highlighting the presidency’s commitment to ensuring access to quality education and nutritional support for all.

The Value for Money Research Program was launched in Osun state in May 2024, and the Kaduna visit marks the second stage of the nationwide study. The program aims to ensure the school feeding programme delivers maximum impact for schoolchildren and provides optimum return on investment for the government.

In a statement, Adeniji noted that "Together, we are working towards a future where every child has access to quality education and nutritional support." The visit underscores the presidency’s commitment to ensuring that every child in Kaduna has access to quality education and nutritional support.
