NNPP Makes Logo Changes to Ensure Ballot Paper Clarity
In a bid to streamline the election process in Nigeria, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has undergone a rebranding exercise, unveiling a new logo to adorn ballot papers from November this year. The development was revealed at an official presentation ceremony in Abuja, where the national chairman of the party, Dr Ajuji Ahmed, shed light on the motivation behind the change.
According to Ahmed, the old logo with its multitude of colors presented a significant challenge in the production of ballot papers during the last general elections. This led to voter confusion in several parts of the country, prompting the need for an overhaul.
The new logo, which has been approved by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), will make its debut in November for off-season governorship elections in Ondo State. The old logo, however, will still be used for the upcoming elections in Edo and Kano States due to logistics issues.
The NNPP’s decision to change its logo demonstrates a commitment to ensuring the integrity of the election process and providing a more conducive environment for voters to make informed decisions.
Ahmed emphasized the party’s resolve to work closely with State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs) to integrate the new logo into ballot papers for local government elections across the Federation. The party chairman called on all SIECs to take notice of the new development and ensure a seamless implementation of the logo change.
This development underscores the NNPP’s dedication to reform and progress in Nigeria’s democratic journey, marking an important milestone in the country’s electoral history.
