Fire Destroys Kano Emir’s Palace, No Casualties Reported

A fire outbreak has ravaged the palace of the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, in Gidan Rumfa, Nigeria. According to a statement released by the palace, the fire occurred on Friday night around 11 pm at the outer court of His Highness’s Palace, Kofar Kudu.

Fortunately, the incident resulted in no casualties, and the damage was deemed minimal. The palace has taken immediate action to ensure the safety and security of its occupants, while also investigating the cause of the fire and implementing measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

According to the statement, the key to the palace was forced open, and it is suspected that the fire was started by individuals who broke in, set the fire, and then locked the door.

Despite the palace’s efforts to contain the incident, the Kano State Fire Service was not informed about the fire. The Public Relations Officer of the fire service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, stated that there was no call regarding the incident at any of the agency’s centers.

The incident is still under investigation, and it is unclear at this time what sparked the fire or who may have been involved. As the investigation continues, the palace and local authorities will work to determine the cause and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
