Kogi State: PDP Disowns Itodo Ubolo Over Anti-Party Activities
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a stern stance against one Mr. Itodo Ubolo, disowning him as a member of the party in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State. In a statement signed by Hon. Isah Alhassan, the party chairman in Ofu Local Government, Ubolo was accused of engaging in anti-party activities prior to the 2023 November 11 governorship election in Kogi State.
Alhassan stated that Ubolo single-handedly worked for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for his own selfish interest, warning him to stop masquerading as a member of the PDP ahead of the forthcoming party Congress in Kogi State.
The PDP chairman also accused Ubolo of lacking consistency in his political career, having switched parties four times within a span of four months. "You have never been a consistent politician. A man who has changed four political parties within the space of four months," Alhassan said.
Alhassan further warned Ubolo against disrupting the peace within the PDP in Ofu Local Government Area, stating that Ubolo and his associates are on a mission to disrupt the party’s upcoming Congress by fielding some members to contest various positions across Kogi East.
The PDP leadership has made it clear that they will not tolerate any form of anti-party activity, urging Ubolo and his associates to desist from such behaviors. "I, Hon. Isah Alhassan, the Divisional Chairman of Ofu Local Government and the entire Local Government Executives of our great party, PDP, say no to your plan," Alhassan concluded.
The disownment of Ubolo comes amidst increasing tensions within the PDP ahead of the forthcoming party Congress in Kogi State. The party is gearing up to choose its candidates for various positions, including governorship, in the 2023 elections.
