Nigeria’s Most Expensive States to Live in Revealed

A recent report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that Bauchi, Kogi, and Oyo are the most expensive states to live in Nigeria. The report, which covers the consumer price index and inflation for June, shows that these three states have the highest year-on-year headline inflation rates.

According to the report, Bauchi had a headline inflation rate of 43.95 percent, followed closely by Kogi with 39.91 percent, and Oyo with 39.15 percent. On the other hand, Borno, Benue, and Katsina recorded the lowest year-on-year headline inflation rates, with Borno having an inflation rate of 25.90 percent, Benue at 27.52 percent, and Katsina at 29.21 percent.

The NBS report also highlights the month-on-month inflation rates, which show that Yobe, Abuja, Ondo, Nasarawa, Osun, and Kano experienced the highest increases, while Kano recorded the slowest rise in month-on-month inflation.

The news comes as Nigeria’s headline inflation rate rose to 34.19 percent in June, according to a report by Media Talk Africa. The NBS report provides valuable insights into the economic situation in Nigeria, shedding light on the states that are most affected by inflation and price increases.
