Nigerian Singer Simi Opens Up About Her Stage Fright: "It’s Like Trying On New Shoes"

Nigerian singer and performing artist Simi has shared her personal experience with stage fright, revealing that it can be a daunting experience for her when performing new songs live. Simi, known for her hit single "Joromi," explained that the first few times she performs a new song on stage feel like trying on a new pair of shoes that need adjustments.

In a recent social media post, Simi shared a clip of herself rehearsing a song from her latest album, "Lost And Found," revealing that she had to give her brain time to bond with the song to overcome her nerves. "The first few times I have to perform a new song (any song) live on stage is like trying on a new pair of shoes that needs adjustments," she wrote.

Simi went on to explain that her history with stage fright stems from her nervousness, but she’s learned to give her brain time to adapt to the new song. "I don’t know why that is. Lol. Maybe it’s cos I have a history with pretty bad stage fright. Now I have to give my brain time to bond with the song so it can learn to disregard me and my nerves," she wrote.
