Purple Speedy, whose real name is Peace Pever Anpee, was born on December 10, 1998, in Gboko, Benue State, Nigeria. She was raised by her parents, Terhile and Ishughun Pever Anpee, and has two sisters, Glory and Faith. Purple Speedy attended WM Bristow Secondary School and later pursued a degree in Guidance and Counselling at Nasarawa State University.

But what really sets Purple Speedy apart is her passion for the colour purple. She’s been a fan of the colour since she was younger and has even gone as far as to create a brand around it. “Somebody told me that when I was much younger, they never saw me with purple, and I told the person, ‘When I was much younger, I didn’t have the resources to actually get everything I wanted in purple,'” she said in a 2023 interview.

Purple Speedy’s rise to fame began when she started creating dance videos on TikTok. Her energetic and entertaining content quickly went viral, and she soon became a household name in Nigeria. She’s since expanded her reach to other social media platforms and has collaborated with other popular content creators.

But what’s truly impressive about Purple Speedy is her impact on the social media landscape in Nigeria. She’s won several awards, including the Dance Influencer of the Year Award at the 2022 Pulse Influencer Award and the TikTok Influencer Award in 2024. Her influence extends beyond her content, as she’s also inspired a generation of young Nigerians to pursue their passions and create their content.
