Google Pixel 9 Series Leaked Design, Camera, Battery and Charging Features Ahead of August 13 Unveiling
In anticipation of Google’s upcoming Made by Google event scheduled for August 13, rumors have been circulating about the design and features of the new Google Pixel 9 series. Recent leaks have surfaced, giving us a glimpse of the rumored design, camera, battery, and charging details of the upcoming handsets.
The latest leaks come from a certification site, where images of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold were spotted, showing a completely flat design, a significant improvement over the previous foldable Pixel phone. The Pro Fold’s display boasts better crease control and thinner bezels compared to the existing foldable device.
The inner selfie camera is placed at the top right corner of the screen, while the rear camera module features a new squarish design. Meanwhile, the base and Pro Pixel 9 models will sport a visor-like camera island, similar to the Pixel 8 series. The vanilla model comes with a dual-rear camera setup in a pill-shaped module, accompanied by an LED flash unit. Pro models, on the other hand, feature a triple rear camera setup and an additional temperature sensor.
Furthermore, hands-on videos of the Pixel 9 series phones were spotted on TikTok, comparing the size of the Pixel 9 Pro XL alongside the iPhone 14 Pro Max, as well as the base Pixel 9 against the vanilla Pixel 8.
Camera capabilities for the Pixel 9 Pro XL include preset zoom options of 0.5x (ultra-wide angle), 1x (main camera), 2x (sensor crop), and 5x (telephoto). The camera app also supports manual zoom up to 30x.
As for battery and charging details, the Pixel 9 series is expected to offer a significant upgrade. The base Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are predicted to have 4,558mAh batteries, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL might be powered by a 4,942mAh battery. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold may combine 1,183mAh and 3,377mAh cells to create a total of 4,560mAh worth of battery.
In terms of charging speed, the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold are expected to support about 24.12W, 25.20W, 32.67W, and 20.25W wired fast charging, respectively. While these numbers might not be as fast as previously expected, they still suggest an impressive upgrade from previous models.
