Tiffany Haddish, the American actress and comedian, has expressed her support for her ex-boyfriend Common’s potential marriage to singer and talk show host Jennifer Hudson. Common recently revealed that if he ever decides to get married, Hudson would be his choice.
The 44-year-old Haddish, who dated Common between 2020 and 2021, caught wind of her ex’s declaration during a sit-down with Charlamagne Tha God. When a fan commented on Instagram, saying, “Well there he said it he wants to marry her he ain’t neva said that about no woman b4,” Haddish responded, “EXACTLY! I hope they actually get married.”
Haddish’s response was met with surprise, as fans had expected her to be upset or defensive about Common’s apparent interest in Hudson. However, the actress seemed genuinely happy for the couple, quelling any sense of competition or drama.
Despite appearing to be fully invested in his current relationship with Hudson, Common has had nothing but glowing words to say about Haddish, whom he admits to have fallen in love with during their time together. In a previous interview with Hollywood Unlocked, he described Haddish as “one of the best people I’ve met in life” and praised her authenticity and caring nature.
The legendary lyricist also credited Haddish with providing creative inspiration during the creation of his latest album, The Auditorium Vol. 1, with Pete Rock. He explained that having a partner from his hometown of Chicago allowed him to recharge and plug into his roots, saying, “When you’re with somebody who’s from where you from, it’s a different kind of connection.”
Haddish and Common’s relationship ended due to scheduling conflicts, but it appears that she has moved on and is now supporting her ex’s new relationship. The couple’s love and admiration for each other are clear, and fans are rooting for their happiness.
