Simi Reveals She’s a Hands-On Mom, Ditches Initial Plan for Multiple Nannies
Nigerian singer-songwriter Simi has opened up about her motherhood journey, revealing that she’s a hands-on mom who has ditched her initial plan for multiple nannies.
In a recent interview on Cool FM’s The Roadshow, Simi shared that before she had her daughter, Adejare, she thought she would have five nannies and her nanny would have a nanny, but that’s not the case.
“I used to say that I would have five nannies and my nanny would have a nanny; that’s not the case,” she said. “I’m super hands-on. In fact, when we’re in the States, I don’t have any nannies, but here I have someone to watch her when I have to work because I’m busier here than there. That’s just not the kind of mum I ended up being.”
Simi revealed that she only gets nannies for her daughter when they come to Nigeria, adding that she’s a busy mom and needs help when she’s working. She also expressed her desire to work on a children’s project, calling it an “untapped market.”
The singer also touched on her plans to write a novel, saying she’s trying to write a book, possibly a romance, fantasy, or suspense novel. “I used to say that if I wasn’t an artiste I would probably be a novelist,” she said.
Simi’s interview is a refreshing look into the life of a celebrity mom, showing that even the most successful women can be hands-on and relatable.
