Simone Biles Feels Confident Ahead of Paris 2024 Games
Seven-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles has expressed her confidence ahead of the Paris 2024 Games, stating that she feels prepared and focused after putting in the work over the past three years. This comes after she withdrew from multiple finals at the 2020 Tokyo Games to prioritize her mental health.
At 27, Biles is gearing up for her third Olympic appearance, and the experience has taught her a lot about herself. She has committed to therapy and is proud to have helped others seek help after sharing her own struggles. “It made them want to get help and now they’re getting the proper help,” she said. “So I feel like that’s a special connection that I have with each person that comes up to me and says they that they now have help.”
Biles’ personal life has also been busy, having married NFL player Jonathan Owens in the spring of 2023. She has been enjoying milestones like baby showers, weddings, and overseeing the construction of her new home in the Houston suburbs. However, her main focus remains on her sport.
After two decades of dedication to gymnastics, Biles still spends countless hours at World Champions Centre, the gym owned by her family in Spring, Texas. She is determined to push her limits and see how far she can go, dispelling the myth that elite gymnasts peak in their late teens.
“I think with everything I’ve been through, I want to push the limits, I want to see how far I can go,” she said. “I want to see what I’m still capable of so once I step away from this sport, I can truly be happy with my career and say I gave it my all.”
With her sights set on the Paris 2024 Games, Simone Biles is ready to take on the challenge and make a statement. Will she be able to overcome the challenges of the past and achieve her goals? Only time will tell.
