Janet Jackson Opens Up About Her Dislike for Interviews
In a rare candid moment, Janet Jackson shared her true feelings about giving interviews. In a recent conversation on the radio program “Heart Evenings with Dev Griffin,” the Grammy-winning superstar revealed that she doesn’t like speaking about herself or being asked questions, preferring to listen to others talk.
At 58, Jackson explained, “I’ve never thought I give a good interview. I really don’t like speaking, so I’d rather stay quiet and listen to other people talk, and that’s always been me.” When asked by the radio host if there’s a particular question she’s tired of being asked, Jackson responded, “I don’t mean to be rude, but I have to be honest with you. Please stop asking me questions.”
The “Feedback” singer further elaborated on her distaste for interviews, stating, “I think I’m just not comfortable sharing my personal life with the world, so I’d rather just not share it at all.” Jackson has long been private about her personal life, and it seems that this sentiment remains unwavering.
Despite her disdain for interviews, Jackson has been quite forthcoming about her love for music and her inspirations. In the same interview, she spoke about the artists who have inspired her over the years, including her cousin Stevie Wonder and the legendary group Earth, Wind & Fire. “My brothers would often take me with them when they would go to concerts, and I remember seeing Earth, Wind & Fire as a kid — just unforgettable,” she recalled. “I’ll never forget that. Really blew me away, the musicianship, and then the body of work. I absolutely loved it.”
It’s clear that Jackson’s passion for music drives her, and she’s always striving to create something meaningful. The 58-year-old is currently on the road with her Together Again Tour, performing for fans across North America and Europe.
