Cory Hardrict Defends Tyler Perry’s “Divorce in Black” Despite Critical Backlash

Cory Hardrict Brushes Off Critical Reviews of Tyler Perry’s “Divorce in Black”

Actor Cory Hardrict has dismissed negative reviews of his latest film, “Divorce in Black”, directed by Tyler Perry. Despite receiving a rare 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Hardrict remains optimistic about the movie’s success.

In an interview with TMZ, Hardrict praised the film, calling it the “number one movie in the world”. He also expressed his gratitude towards Perry, stating that the director “takes care of his actors” and creates a “loving set”.

When asked about the film’s low score, Hardrict admitted he hadn’t kept up with the reviews, but emphasized that people are actually watching the movie. “As long as the people see it, my neighborhood see it, South Side, Chicago, L.A. see it, everybody see it, then I’m happy, it’s all love,” he said.

Hardrict’s sentiments may have been exaggerated, as “Divorce in Black” is not even in the top five at the moment, although it is currently No. 1 on Prime Video. According to Box Office, the No. 1 movie in the world currently is “Despicable Me 4”.

The film has also received criticism from comedian and TV host Loni Love, who suggested that Perry hire Black writers and directors to “improve” his work. Love stated that Perry could “improve the movies & make them award worthy if he would stop trying to save money by doing the writing and directing himself”.

Despite the controversy, Hardrict remains committed to his work with Perry, stating that he is currently working on another undisclosed film with the director. “Shoutout Mr. Perry, I love Mr. Perry, though. That’s my guy. He takes care of his actors, it’s a loving set and we’re gonna do it again,” he expressed.
