Bel-Air Season 3 Trailer Reveals New Dynamics and Exciting Changes
The Banks family is back in the spotlight with the release of the trailer for Bel-Air season three. The upcoming season promises to bring new dynamics and exciting changes to the show, which has been praised for its portrayal of the lives of a wealthy African American family in Los Angeles.
According to executive producer and director Morgan Cooper, season three will have a more vibrant and immersive feel, with a focus on the characters’ personal growth and relationships. “Everything has a little more kick to it this season; the colors are more vibrant, the sound is elevated, the cinematography is more immersive. The vibe really sets the tone for Will’s first summer,” Cooper explained.
The trailer shows Will, played by Jabari Banks, ready to level up and make his own way, even if it means going against the grain of what’s expected. The show will also explore new relationship dynamics, including the complex bond between Will and his partner Carlton, who is desperate to leave his life of addiction behind and rebuild his reputation.
The showrunner, Carla Banks Waddle, emphasized the importance of cultural representation in the show, stating that Bel-Air has always been a show with a strong cultural point of view. This season, the show will tackle the topic of gentrification in South LA and how it affects the community.
The cast, which includes Olly Sholotan, Justin Cornwell, Cassandra Freeman, Adrian Holmes, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Simone Joy Jones, and Jabari Banks, will all reprise their roles for the third installment. Bel-Air season three premieres on Peacock on August 15 with three new episodes at launch. Watch the trailer above to get a glimpse of what’s to come.
The official synopsis reads: “In season three, school’s out for the summer, and Will is doing Bel-Air his way. Being a part of the Banks family has given him a new perspective – it isn’t just about wealth, it means that Will now has options to lean into other things that excite him and has the privilege to dream bigger. As Will makes an exciting pivot, he finds a partner in Carlton, who desperately wants to leave his life of addiction behind and rebuild his damaged reputation. And while the dynamic duo has a lot of exciting wins, working together also reveals fundamental differences in their backgrounds and worldviews. Can a partnership of such extremes work? Pressure at work and home will also pose challenges for Viv and Phil. How does a couple hold strong when their lives are at sea? Hilary’s romantic journey with LaMarcus will face some shocking hurdles, and Ashley’s views on romance will start to blossom as she comes of age the summer before she starts high school, and Geoffrey’s London past will come a little too close to home.”
