Kidnappers of Hausa Singer’s Mother Killed and Arrested in Gun Duel with Nigerian Security Forces
In a dramatic turn of events, operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) have killed one kidnapper and arrested another in a gun duel in Makarfi Forest, Kaduna State, Nigeria. The kidnappers had abducted the mother of famous Hausa singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, and demanded a ransom of N26.5 million.
According to a DSS source in Kano, the operatives stormed the kidnappers’ den early on Friday morning, taking them by surprise while they were sharing the ransom they had collected. The source revealed that the operatives were able to overpower the kidnappers, killing one instantly and arresting another who is receiving treatment for gunshot wounds.
The arrested kidnapper, identified as Bature, is reportedly providing credible information to the operatives on how they kidnapped innocent Nigerians. The source also confirmed that the kidnappers, Hamisu and Bature, are Fulanis.
The operation was carried out after careful intelligence tracing the kidnappers to Makarfi Forest. The successful operation has been hailed as a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping in Nigeria.
