PDP Akwa Ibom State Council Commences Sales of Forms for Councillorship Seats
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Akwa Ibom State Council has announced the commencement of the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for councillorship seats across the 369 wards in the state. This move comes as a preparation for the upcoming local government elections in the state, scheduled to take place by October 2024.
According to a statement issued by the state publicity secretary, Borono Bassey, the exercise began on Friday, July 19 and is expected to end on Wednesday, July 24. On Saturdays, the collection of Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms will take place from 9am to 3pm.
The party chairman, Elder Aniekan Akpan, has encouraged all aspirants to make the most of the time frame and purchase the forms. He assured that the party would uphold the principles of fair play and transparency throughout the exercise, adhering to the guidelines.
In his statement, Akpan reiterated the advice of the leader of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State, Governor Pastor Umo Eno, who urged leaders and stakeholders to promote the current legacy of peace in the state and ensure that their actions and choices make winning easy for the party.
The PDP chairman emphasized the importance of maintaining the trust of Akwa Ibom State on the party, which has led to its continued preference as the most preferred platform for the emergence of leaders and representatives.
