Edo State Governorship Candidate Unveils Blueprint for Development, Better Connection to Federal Government

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has commended the party’s governorship candidate in Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, for having a blueprint that would help the state.

Ganduje made the declaration on Saturday during the inauguration of the APC’s national campaign council for the 2024 governorship election in Edo, headed by Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River.

According to Ganduje, Okpebholo’s blueprint would connect Edo State better to the federal government. He emphasized that if the state was not connected to the centre, it would not experience full political participation and the dividends of democracy.

The APC National Chairman also announced plans to organize a flag-off rally soon, which would feature the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Benin City.

“We are happy because our incoming governor and his deputy have already produced a blueprint for the development of Edo State,” Ganduje said. “They are coming with a blueprint and practical steps so that Edo can fully develop and be connected to the centre.”

The campaign council’s inauguration marked the beginning of the APC’s campaign for the Edo governorship election, and Okpebholo’s blueprint is expected to play a key role in shaping the party’s strategy for the polls.

In a bid to strengthen its position ahead of the election, the APC has appointed Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River to lead its national campaign council for the 2024 governorship election in Edo State.
