Kaduna State PDP Aspirant Lacks Confidence in SIECOM and Governor Uba Sani to Conduct Free and Fair Council Elections

A Kaduna State aspirant for the state chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Danjuma Bello Sarki, has expressed his lack of confidence in the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIECOM) and Governor Uba Sani to conduct free and fair council elections in the state.

Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday after a meeting of PDP members on the forthcoming chairmanship election, Sarki alleged that the SIECOM chairman was not qualified for the position. “She is just on level 13 and how can she become the state chairperson when she has other seniors that are ahead of her?” he questioned.

Sarki also claimed that the appointment of the SIECOM chairman led to the resignation of four commissioners in the SIECOM office in Kaduna. He further alleged that stopping electronic voting was another form of rigging.

The aspirant stated that he does not have confidence in the new leadership of SIECOM and Governor Uba Sani to conduct free and fair elections in the state. However, he vowed that if elected as the chairman of the party in the state, he would ensure every loophole is covered and ensure the success of the party in the coming council elections.

Sarki’s comments come as the state prepares for local government elections, which are expected to be a crucial test of the party’s strength in the region. The aspirant’s lack of confidence in SIECOM and Governor Uba Sani’s ability to conduct free and fair elections is likely to raise concerns among party members and voters alike.

The outcome of the elections is expected to have significant implications for the party’s fortunes in the state and the country as a whole.
