TikTok Makes Ticketing a Breeze with Eventbrite Partnership

TikTok has taken a significant step forward in its ticketing efforts, partnering with Eventbrite to allow creators to link events directly in their videos. This move has the potential to revolutionize the way live events are promoted and sold, making it easier for creators to monetize their content.

From now on, users can purchase tickets to events without ever leaving the TikTok platform. The link will appear above a video’s caption, making it easy for users to find and book tickets to their favorite events. This streamlined process is particularly beneficial for creators who make their living from live shows, such as stand-up comics.

Ted Dworkin, chief product officer at Eventbrite, expressed his excitement about the partnership, saying: “We’re giving creators a simple way to jump into trending conversations and bring online communities together in real life through events they’re passionate about. With this partnership, millions of people can now easily discover and attend the best events in their cities, right from where the conversation is happening – on TikTok.”

The collaboration between TikTok and Eventbrite is not new, as the two companies already partnered in 2022 for a Ticketmaster partnership. The partnership has since rolled out to more markets, including the UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, and Mexico.

The partnership also further solidifies TikTok’s position as a search engine, allowing users to search for videos about Eventbrite events. However, it’s worth noting that the platform’s ultimate goal is to keep users on the platform for as long as possible.

The partnership’s limitations are also worth mentioning, as TikTok only allows a select few things to be directly linked in a video, including Ticketmaster tickets, TikTok Shop products, Buzzfeed Quizzes, Rotten Tomatoes, and Whisk. Unfortunately, articles are still not linked, which could be an opportunity for the platform to spread misinformation.
