NNPC CEO Denies Blending Plant Allegations in Malta

NNPC Chief Executive Dispels Blending Plant Rumors in Malta

In a shocking turn of events, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPLC, Mele Kyari has come out to clear the air about a recent allegation made by the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote. According to reports, Dangote accused some NNPC workers of establishing a blending plant in Malta, which allegedly impedes procurement from local production of petroleum products.

Kyari took to his social media handle to make a public statement, addressing the concerns surrounding the alleged blending plant. The NNPLC boss emphasized that he does not own or operate any petroleum blending plant in Malta, nor is he aware of any NNPC employee who does. He further emphasized that a blending plant in Malta has no influence over NNPC’s business operations and strategic actions.

Kyari made the clarification necessary after being bombarded with inquiries from family members, friends, and associates regarding the allegations. He noted that he has a local mini-agricultural venture, but it’s the only business he operates or has an interest in.

The NNPLC CEO also warned that any NNPC employee found to be involved in establishing a blending plant in Malta or anywhere else in the world would face severe consequences, including public declaration and being reported to relevant government security agencies. Kyari emphasized that such actions would compromise national energy security and cannot be tolerated.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how this controversy will affect the already complex dynamics between NNPC, Dangote Group, and other stakeholders in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. One thing is certain, however – the public will be eagerly watching to see how this drama unfolds.
