Gwoza Communities Successfully Resettled, Says Ndume

Senator Ali Ndume (APC-Borno) has commended the successes recorded in the ongoing resettlement of communities displaced by insurgency in Borno State. While on a visit to Gwoza, Mr Ndume expressed his admiration for the efforts made by the Borno State government, led by Governor Babagana Zulum, in reintegrating the displaced communities.

Noting that about 10 communities have already returned to Gwoza Local Government Area and are now engaged in farming activities, Senator Ndume stressed the need for continuous support to help these communities recover from the effects of the insurgency.

To complement the government’s efforts, a group of Gwoza Concern Citizens, initiated by the youths, have started mobilizing funds from well-wishers to support the resettlement process.

“I want to commend the people of Gwoza for their resilience and commitment to self-reliance,” Senator Ndume said, praising the community’s dedication to rebuilding their lives.

During his visit to the affected communities, Senator Ndume distributed support materials to 2,000 people and donated N10 million to the Gwoza Concern Citizens’ fund. He also commended the Federal Government for approving a Federal College of Education in Gwoza, with an N200 million takeoff grant from the Borno State government.

Moreover, Mr Ndume acknowledged the outstanding job done by the military and other security agencies in providing the necessary security for the displaced people to return to their farms. According to him, this has significantly boosted their confidence and morale, paving the way for a successful resettlement.
