Peoples Democratic Party Launches Ward-to-Ward Campaign in Edo State Ahead of Governorship Election
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the start of its ward-to-ward campaign in Edo State, with a focus on meeting party faithful at the grassroots level and taking the message of prosperity to the people. The campaign, which kicked off on July 25, is aimed at acquainting party members with the programs and vision of the party’s governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie.
According to a statement from the Deputy Director-General of Media and Publicity of the Asue/Ogie Campaign Management Council, Rev. Olu Martins, the ward tours will provide an opportunity for the party to meet with its supporters and share its vision for a prosperous Edo State. Martins emphasized that the tours will also serve as a platform for the party’s candidate and campaign council to vigorously take the message of prosperity to the grassroots, ensuring that no one is left out in their pursuit of a better Edo State.
Party executives, led by Tony Aziegbemi, will be part of the campaign entourage, which will include the PDP candidate. Martins also highlighted the importance of the campaign council, ably led by its Director General, Matthew Iduoriyekewhen.
The PDP is confident that it is the most prepared party for the September 21st election, citing its organizational structure and the forward-looking, focused, and hardworking nature of its candidate.
Martins has called on party faithful to come out in large numbers to welcome and mobilize their friends and family, as they have always done.
The campaign is expected to be a crucial step in the PDP’s efforts to win the governorship election in Edo State.
