NBCUniversal’s New TikTok Live Show to Bring Olympics to a New Generation

NBCUniversal’s latest initiative to increase viewership for the 2024 Paris Olympics is a new daily TikTok Live show called Spotlight on Paris, airing at 4:45 pm ET from Saturday onwards. The one-hour program will be presented in partnership with Toyota and hosted by Savannah Sellers, a co-Anchor of NBC News’ Morning News NOW, and TikTokker and radio host Josh “Bru” Brubaker.

According to Josh Noval, SVP of Olympic Sales at NBCUniversal, the goal is to “make sure that we’re reaching every American that we possibly can and giving them content on platforms in a voice that they’re accustomed to hearing from.” To achieve this, Spotlight on Paris will cover all the bases by featuring the 27-strong “Paris Creators Collective,” partnered with Meta, Overtime, Snapchat, TikTok, and YouTube, to produce engaging content for the show.

“We’re focusing on where young people are, where they consume content, and bringing the Olympics to them on TikTok,” says Sellers. The episodes will aim to capture the excitement and emotion of the events, as well as introduce viewers to the cultural, nightlife, and food and fashion aspects of Paris during the Olympics. “We want people to feel like they’re getting a slice of Paris and getting a sense of what’s happening in the events,” says Sellers.

Both Brubaker and Sellers will be experiencing the Olympics for the first time and are thrilled to have been brought on board to anchor the show. Brubaker commented that “It’s the Olympics, so it’s gonna be gold medal standard!”

Get ready to witness the thrill and spectacle of the Olympics like never before! Spotlight on Paris is set to premiere Saturday on TikTok.
