Nigeria’s Minister of Interior Calls for Unity and Support for President Tinubu’s Administration

In a statement on Saturday, Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, urged citizens to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration as the country navigates a transformative period. The Minister’s appeal comes just days before a proposed nationwide protest on August 1, in response to the country’s economic hardship.

According to Tunji-Ojo, Nigeria is currently facing significant challenges, but the Minister believes that President Tinubu has the boldness, audacity, and tenacity to lead the country through this period of change. The Minister praised the President’s commitment to addressing the country’s longstanding issues, saying that he is working tirelessly to resolve the problems plaguing the nation.

The Minister emphasized the importance of national unity and patriotism, urging every Nigerian to stand united and support the President’s vision for the country. He noted that Nigeria’s journey has never been easy, but that through collective resilience and patriotism, the country has made significant strides.

Tunji-Ojo also highlighted the President’s leadership style, saying that he is not just a leader, but a symbol of the country’s collective aspirations for a prosperous and equitable Nigeria. The Minister emphasized that the strength of the nation lies in its unity and unwavering belief in a brighter future.

In a statement, the Minister said: “Sixty-four years after attaining sovereign status, our beloved nation has consciously strived toward the realisation of a better Nigeria. We stand at a pivotal moment in our history, where acknowledging our achievements and recognising the surmountable challenges ahead is essential. It is in this spirit of reflection and resolve that I find solace—and consider it a profound blessing—that we have a president who is bold, audacious, and tenacious enough to face these difficulties.”

The Minister’s appeal for unity and support comes as the country grapples with economic hardship, with many Nigerians struggling to make ends meet. The proposed nationwide protest on August 1 is a testament to the people’s frustration and discontent with the current state of affairs.

However, Tunji-Ojo’s statement offers a message of hope and optimism, urging Nigerians to come together and support the President’s vision for a better future. With the country’s leadership and citizens working together, the Minister believes that Nigeria can overcome any obstacle and achieve its dreams.
