Nasarawa United Edges Closer to Homecoming

The wait is almost over for Nasarawa United fans as the team prepares to return to their home ground, the Lafia Township Stadium, subject to approval from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

As a crucial step towards making the dream a reality, Nasarawa State government officials conducted an on-site assessment of the stadium on Monday, ahead of the NPFL’s visit. The officials scrutinized the facility to ensure it meets the league’s standards.

Last season, Nasarawa United were suspended from hosting NPFL games at the stadium due to concerns over the poor condition of the pitch. Instead, they played their home matches in the Nigeria National League (NNL) under the Solid Miners’ promotion-winning campaign.

The team is set to make a triumphant return to their fans, with their opening match scheduled against Shooting Stars. Nasarawa United’s players are itching to get back to their natural habitat, where they can feed off the energy of the home crowd.

With the government officials’ assessment underway, the NPFL’s decision will determine whether Nasarawa United will finally return to their beloved Lafia Township Stadium. Fans are eagerly anticipating the verdict, hoping to see their team in action once again at their home turf.
