The Southwest Executive Committee of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has made a heartfelt appeal to the country’s citizens to refrain from turning the region into a “theatre of war”. The party leaders made this appeal at an emergency meeting in Akure, Ondo State, where they also acknowledged the current hardship plaguing Nigeria.

According to a communiquĆ© issued by National Vice Chairman Isaac Kekemeke, Chairman South West, and zonal secretary Vincent Bewaji, the APC urged all South Westerners, both at home and abroad, to refuse to allow the region to be used as a hub for violent protests or criminal activities. The party emphasized that every Nigerian has the right to peaceful protest and express themselves over government programs, as enshrined in the country’s constitution.

The APC leaders pleaded with Nigerians to bear the temporary hardships and pains with patience, assuring that these difficulties will soon give way to a meaningful livelihood for all. They recognized the giant steps taken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to give Nigeria a new socio-economic direction, ultimately ensuring prosperity and abundance for all Nigerians.

The party’s leaders are urging Nigerians to remain patient and work together to build a brighter future for the country. As the country navigates these uncertain times, it is crucial that citizens prioritize peace and cooperation to overcome the temporary hardships and achieve a more prosperous Nigeria.
