OnePlus Buds May Get AI-Powered Call Summarization
In a bid to push the boundaries of innovation, OnePlus is reportedly incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into its latest wireless earbuds. According to a recent report, the OnePlus Buds might soon be equipped with AI-powered call summarization, allowing users to easily toggle and control this feature through their earbuds.
The AI-powered call summarization was reportedly spotted during an APK teardown of the OnePlus Buds app version 14.8.2 for Android smartphones. The feature, which may be dubbed ‘AI Call Assistant’, allows users to start or end call summarization via the earbuds. To enable this feature, users will need to press the stem of the earbuds thrice.
Only OnePlus handsets that support the AI summary function will be able to control this feature using the TWS earbuds. However, if the smartphone is in super power saving mode, meditation mode, or children’s space, the AI call summarization will be unavailable. With this feature, users will be able to view key information about their conversation, including the time and place, even when their phone is not nearby.
This development comes as part of OnePlus’s efforts to incorporate AI into its devices. The company has been rolling out various AI-powered features for its smartphones over the past few months, including camera-centric additions like AI Eraser 2.0 and AI Smart Cutout 2.0, as well as AI Toolbox features such as AI Speak, Recording Summary, and AI Link boost.
The AI call summarization feature may be rolled out for the latest OnePlus Buds 3, which debuted in February. However, it remains unclear if the feature will be introduced for older models as well. The feature was spotted during an APK teardown, and it may or may not make it to the public version of the app.
