Nigerian Musician Burna Boy Warns Fans Against Dragging Him into Ongoing Hunger Protest

Burna Boy, a renowned afrobeat musician, has cautioned his fans against involving him in the current nationwide protest against economic hardship in Nigeria. The 10-day protest, which began on August 1, is being led by Nigerian youths who are demanding an end to the economic challenges facing the country.

According to a report by Media Talk Africa, some of Burna Boy’s fans took to social media to urge celebrities to lend their voices to the protest. However, the musician responded by warning his fans not to drag him into the demonstrations.

Burna Boy made his stance clear on his social media handle, stating that he has already lost the fight during the EndSARS protest on October 20, 2020. He quoted a post from that time, which read: "The fight in me died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around. Even Jesus was crucified."

This statement is believed to be a reference to the moment protesters declined to play his songs during the 2020 protest. It appears that Burna Boy has been left scarred by the experience and is unwilling to be drawn into future protests.

In related news, singer Spyro has called for an entertainment break nationwide and encouraged other celebrities to use their platforms to support the protest. However, Burna Boy seems to have other plans, and his fans would do well to respect his wishes and not involve him in the ongoing demonstrations.
