D’Tigress Fall to France in Disappointing 75-54 Defeat

The African champions, D’Tigress, have suffered a crushing defeat to France in their second group game at the 2024 Olympic Games. The West Africans were outplayed by the hosts, falling 75-54 on Thursday.

Coach Rena Wakama has acknowledged that her team was not at their best, failing to replicate the stunning victory over Australia in their first game. "We didn’t play our game, we are not ourselves, what helped us secure the win on Monday, we didn’t bring today," Wakama said, quoted by FIBA.com.

The French team dominated the paint, shooting 63 percent inside, making it difficult for D’Tigress to compete. Wakama added, "It’s tough when you let another team shoot 63 percent inside the paint. It’s hard to beat anybody, we need to get back to our ways."

This setback will be a tough pill to swallow for D’Tigress, who had high hopes of continuing their winning streak. However, they still have a chance to redeem themselves in their final group game against Canada on Sunday.

Will D’Tigress be able to bounce back and regain their winning form? Only time will tell.
