Megan Thee Stallion Fires Back at Critics After Performing at Kamala Harris Rally

Megan Thee Stallion Responds to Backlash for Performance at Kamala Harris Rally

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion recently faced backlash for her performance at Vice President Kamala Harris’s Atlanta campaign rally, with some critics labeling the event as "pure ghetto trash." However, the Houston-based artist took to the stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago to respond to her critics and reaffirm her support for the presidential candidate.

The controversy began when Megan Thee Stallion performed at the Georgia State Convocation Center on July 30, drawing thousands of fans to support Harris’s first event in the southern state as a presidential candidate. The rapper took centerstage dressed in a tailored blue suit, performing modified versions of her hits "Savage," "Girls in the Hood," "Body," and her latest trending record "Mamushi."

While the performance excited fans, it drew backlash from others, with conservatives deeming the event as "ghetto trash" and using slogans such as "H*es for Harris, Hoodrats for Harris, Single Black Momalas for Kamala, White Dudes for Harris." The criticism prompted Megan Thee Stallion to respond on stage, doubling down on her support for VP Harris.

"Megan Thee Stallion, the chart-topping rapper, responded to her contradicters on stage, saying: ‘Let me pop my sh*yy real quick,’ she began. ‘[People] were fake mad that I was popping it for Kamala. I don’t think they heard what she said.’ She continued to explain, ‘Kamala said she wants a ceasefire,’ adding, ‘Kamala said she supports women’s rights. And she said she’s tired of those high-a** gas prices… It’s Hotties for Harris, goddammit!’"
