Kano State Curfew Adjusted: Residents Urged to Return Home
The Kano State government has announced an adjustment to the curfew in the state, which is now from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This decision was made by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Baba Dantiye, during a broadcast on Sunday in Kano.
According to Dantiye, the curfew was adjusted to restore normalcy in the state, which had been under a 24-hour curfew since the start of a nationwide protest. The state government imposed the curfew to ensure public safety during the protests, which turned violent in some areas.
In his broadcast, Dantiye also expressed condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones and property during the protests. He further urged residents to return to their homes by 2 p.m. and assured them that the curfew would be reviewed as the security situation improves.
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State also appealed to residents to continue praying for peace, progress, and political stability in the state and the nation. The state government emphasizes that it will continue to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of its citizens.
This relaxation of the curfew is a step towards restoring normalcy in the state, and residents are expected to comply with the new time frame.
