DJ Switch Calls Out Wike, Dokubo, Urges Them to Confront Protesting Nigerians

Nigerian DJ Challenged FCT Minister, Asari Dokubo to Confront Protesters amid Hunger Crisis

As Nigeria grapples with an unprecedented hunger crisis, renowned Nigerian DJ and activist, Obianuju Catherine, also known as DJ Switch, has dared the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, to confront protesters on the streets. The 10-day nationwide "EndBadGovernance" hunger protest, which kicked off on August 1, 2024, aims to draw attention to the country’s economic challenges.

Asari Dokubo had previously warned protest organizers not to bring the demonstration to his region, citing the lack of relevance of the issues addressed in the protest to his community. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike also threatened to ban the protest in Abuja, citing alleged plans to destroy property. However, DJ Switch, who was part of the organizers of the 2020 EndSARS protests, rejected these claims, emphasizing the peaceful nature of the protest.

In a passionate tweet, DJ Switch lamented the severity of the hunger crisis and squarely accused Wike and Dokubo of using violence and intimidation tactics to suppress the people’s voices. "The only thing that can stop HUNGER is FOOD! Not guns, teargas, or threats from fat globs like Asari Dokubo and chicken feed Wike! I wonder why they are hiding now. Come outside let them eat you raw," she wrote.

As Nigeria continues to face economic hardships and unrest, DJ Switch’s defiant response highlights the need for urgent solutions to alleviate the suffering of the people. Will her call to action inspire a sense of accountability among Nigeria’s leaders and pave the way for a peaceful and productive resolution to this national crisis? Only time will tell.
