Oyedepo Distributes Food items, Cash To Kogi Flood Victims

Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel International), Bishop David Oyedepo has distributed relief materials to over 1,000 households in Kogi State.

The items consisting of food packs were sent to the beneficiaries through the church headquarters in Lokongoma, branches within Lokoja metropolis in Adankolo, Gadumo, Ganaja, 500 Housing Units and local government areas such as Ibaji, Idah and others.

Both members and non-members of the church in the state who registered as flood victims received the food packs that contained rice, beans, garri and a sum of N10,000 for each beneficiary.

While flagging off the distribution of the relief packages, the state pastor of the church, Fred Attabo, described the gesture as an initiative of the president and founder of the church, Bishop Oyedepo.

Attabo said, “We thank God for the leadership, the apostle over this commission, Bishop David Oyedepo who heard about the flooding and immediately mobilized resources to ensure that relief materials get to you. The prophet over the commission is always praying for us and the testimony of this prayer is that in spite of the devastating effect of the flood, no soul was lost in our camp. To God alone be all the glory.

“I bring greetings to you from our Father the Apostle over this commission who sent the relief materials that we are distributing today. It is my prayer that as you receive this package, you will begin to receive greater help from above.”

Attabo added that it is not a welfare issue but a package for the victims of the flooding alone as over 24 local churches in Ibaji local government area were closed as a result of the flood.

He added that “the token we are giving you is but to cushion the effects of the flooding and ameliorate the suffering of the flood victims.”

In his address, the Church Board chairman, Elder Joseph Ipemida, charged the beneficiaries to make use of the food pack as a way of starting the process of resettlement. He said, “We are mandated to ensure that everyone is captured and not being our member doesn’t mean you will not benefit from the package”.
