Saudi Arabia and Morocco Strengthen Islamic Cooperation

In a significant move to promote Islamic values and cooperation, Morocco’s Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, held talks with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in the countries of the Islamic world, focused on discussing common issues of interest and strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday that the two ministers discussed ways to promote moderation, justice, and coexistence between religions, as well as combating extremism, fanaticism, and terrorism worldwide.

Morocco’s Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts in serving Islam and Muslims, and promoting the values of moderation and justice globally. He emphasized that the conference supports the efforts of Islamic affairs ministries to disseminate and reinforce these values, and expressed his hope that the meeting would result in recommendations that strengthen fruitful cooperation between participants and contribute to the achievement of the organization’s noble mission.

For his part, Al-Sheikh hailed the relations between the two countries, particularly in Islamic affairs, and expressed his commitment to strengthening cooperation and promoting Islamic values.

The 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in the countries of the Islamic world, which kicked off on Sunday in Mecca, is being held under the theme "The role of endowments and Islamic affairs ministries in promoting and consolidating the principles and the values of moderation." The conference aims to promote cooperation and understanding among Islamic countries and to strengthen the role of endowments and Islamic affairs ministries in promoting Islamic values and principles.
